Should we have to learn french in high school?

I think that mandatory french courses should only be for grade 9, like it is now. Whether we continue with french after that should stay our choice, because if you aren't planning on using french for anything then it would just be a waste of time. There could be a course that you would want to be in more but if french is mandatory for all 4 years of high school then it might get in the way of that. That's what I think anyways.
